The quest to learn about your inner child and shadow self isn't something you can do passively.

Over the last few weeks, I have set the time aside to really sit down with myself to start uncovering the areas of my life I have become unfamiliar with. I had been putting this off for weeks and I'm excited to be on the other side of it.
I have tried to connect with my past self before, but I would give up due to the frustration and the fear of what I might find. I needed to overcome this fear because I wanted to grow. I didn't want to let my past self hold me back any longer.
Once I realized that my inner child and past self will always be with me, I was finally ready to accept the pain, mistakes, and suffering that we had made and endured. I am showing myself kindness and tenderness as I see myself in all the phases we've been through.
This journey is never a one and done thing, but maintaining the relationship and checking in with your past self and inner child can help make you proactive. You'll have the tools and knowledge needed to communicate with yourself when your life is out of balance.
After seeing the post to the right from @craftingwitch on Instagram, I decided to be more intentional in the way that I interact and integrate my inner child into my present life. I found that writing a letter to my inner child was the most beneficial for me (it was more of a poem 😌). I decided to no longer force my past self into the shadow, but rather let her be apart of the person we are growing into 💕.
